Interaction Keys
Interaction Keys lets you lock blocks, chests, doors, and entities with physical key items. Only players carrying a matching key can use bound blocks.
FortressMC does not use NameLayer-style groups. Access is per-key: you bind a key to a block, and anyone with that key (or a master key wallet containing the bind) can access it.
Key types
| Key | Crafting | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Key | 1 copper nugget | Binds to individual blocks/entities |
| Master Key | 1 diamond | One wallet holds up to 8,192 binds |
How to use keys
- Bind: left-click a block or entity with a key in hand.
- Lock/unlock: toggle lock state on bound targets.
- Access: you must carry a matching key anywhere in your inventory (bundles and shulkers count). Master keys match by wallet ID.
What keys protect
Doors, chests, beds, containers, crop harvest, lecterns, signs, hoppers, redstone, item frames, paintings, armor stands, minecarts, boats, and other configurable entity types.
Ender chest networks
Keys can bind ender chests to shared inventories separate from your personal vanilla ender chest. Useful for nation storage.
Anvil recipes
Copy keys, bind keys to master wallets, and manage ender chest keys. Default XP cost: 0 levels.
Keys have unique instance IDs and cannot stack.
