Exile Pearl
ExilePearl is how players enforce justice through combat. Kill someone in PvP while holding an ender pearl and they get bound to that pearl and exiled to the Nether until freed.
Uses: Player Essence for pearl fuel
How to pearl someone
- Hit a player in PvP (combat tag lasts 60 seconds after last hit).
- Kill them while tagged.
- You must have a blank ender pearl in your hotbar or offhand.
- The highest-damage online attacker with a pearl gets the pearl item.
The pearl shows the victim’s name, fuel hours, and a unique ID.
What happens to pearled players
| Effect | Detail |
|---|---|
| Forced to Nether | Killed if you log in outside the nether |
| Random respawn | ±1,250 blocks from nether 0,0 (unless you set a charged respawn anchor) |
| Portal lock | Cannot leave the nether via portals |
| Compass | Points to pearl location, updated every 30 seconds |
Pearl fuel
Fuel decays 1 hour per real hour. Max fuel is 8 hours. Refuel by crafting the pearl with 1 Player Essence to fill to max.
Pearled players are freed when fuel hits 0, the pearl is destroyed, or an admin intervenes.
Tips
- Pearl locations are trackable. Many groups store pearls inside vault bastion fields.
- Most pearls are not permanent. Apologize and negotiate rather than antagonize the person holding your pearl.
- See Bastion for vault protection around pearl storage.
